October 2-4 MVSTA's Fall Bike Festival
This annual event features biking opportunities for everybody: cross country races, road rides of 35, 70, or 100 miles through some of North Central Washington’s most inviting scenery, and awesome mountain bike rides for different skill levels and ages. A kid's race, and a bike rodeo for riders ten years and under make this a wonderful family event. Click here for info.

November 7th MVSTA's Annual Sports Swap
At the Winthrop Barn. It is time for that once a year opportunity to buy and sell recreational equipment and clothing you no longer need or want. The doors will be open Friday evening 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. and again Saturday morning from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. for sellers to tag items. Those with more than 5 items to sell are encouraged to bring items Friday evening.
Saturday morning the Barn will close at 9:45 a.m. and re-open for sales at 10:00 a.m. Buyers arrive early and bring your appetite, because the good stuff is usually gone by noon and Friends of the Library will host a Bake Sale all morning!
While at the Sports Swap, individuals may also purchase discounted, early season MVSTA passes, Ice Rink season passes, and Loup Loup season passes.

December 27th MVSTA's Ski Rodeo
At the Mazama Trailhead. This year the Ski Rodeo is a free timed race. In celebration of the upcoming winter Olympics, MVSTA invites you and your family to come out and try a 5k or 10K ski race. Bibs and race timing will be provided, participants need only a MVSTA day trail pass to compete. Results and awards will be provided following the races. January 16 & 17th Methow Valley SuperTour
At Liberty Bell High School in Winthrop. the The SuperTour is a United States Ski Association (USSA) sanctioned ski race series and is the highest level of cross country ski competition in North America. The Methow Valley SuperTour is one of thirteen races in the nationwide SuperTour race circuit in which racers compete for cash prizes and series points. The Methow Valley SuperTour will be held Martin Luther King Weekend, one month before the 2010 Winter Olympic s in Whistler, Canada. It is expected that the best Nordic ski racers from the United States and Canada will attend. Click here for info.
